PACC's 45th: Jamel Gaines & Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of
Brooklyn
|
Founded in 1994, Creative
Outlet's goal is to maintain an environment for artists from various
disciplines to develop and present their work in a professional arena.
The
company's repertory addresses social and cultural issues and represents
multiple art forms; dance is our main ingredient that we infuse with
theatre,
voice, poetry, film and live music. We believe that through our work,
we are
able to heighten the cultural awareness of our audience's
responsibility to the
community and the world at large. Ultimately, Creative Outlet uses the
performing
arts to empower both its artists and its audiences.
CO has collaborated with Alvin
Ailey American Dance Theatre, Seattle Theatre Group, Spoleto Festival
in Italy, Weekend
Arts College
in London,
Michael Jackson, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Dance Theatre of
Harlem, Malik
Yoba, The Harlem Nutcracker, and Disney's The Lion King, among others.

Tor Snyder, acoustic guitar, and
Eric Salazar, violin, have been  presenting their
inspired string duets since
1998. Their music is full of passion and soothing textures and
encompasses
jazz, Latin, classical, pop and world music. They have performed in
clubs,
concert halls, and functions throughout New York
and in such places as Columbia, Kenya, Singapore,
Hawaii, Canada, and throughout the U.S. Tor's
band, Irrepressible Spirit, features Eric on violin and has been active
in NY for
the past decade. They are both currently teaching in the New York
Public
Schools.
