For over four decades PACC has been at the forefront of inclusive, grassroots community development in Central Brooklyn. Today we continue to help build community using three major strategies:
First, we seek to preserve and create affordable housing, because fulfilling the fundamental right to affordable housing is a cornerstone for establishing human well-being, preventing displacement, and enhancing economic, racial, and cultural diversity.
Second, we promote the development of small businesses and vibrant commercial corridors, because economic development creates opportunities for jobs, improves services to our neighborhoods, and otherwise enhances our community as a place to live.
Third, we inform, organize, and galvanize members of the community to oppose unnecessary displacement, to demand accountability from private developers and public officials, and otherwise contribute to the greater good.
